Md. Razin Saleh Alam

Md. Razin Saleh Alam is a Teaching Assistant at the Center for Sustainable Development, ULAB. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts degree from ULAB in English and Humanities. He previously served as a Peer Mentor at the ULAB Student Affairs Office, guiding and supporting students in their academic journeys for more than a year. In addition, Razin is a proficient graphic designer with more than three years of diverse experience, using his creative skills to communicate ideas visually and effectively. He works part-time as a translator and transcriber for research projects. Moreover, he has been actively involved in a diverse range of extracurricular activities. His research interests lie in the areas of circular economy, renewable energy, climate change, and sustainable livelihood. He is passionate about exploring innovative approaches to achieve sustainable development, focusing on creating systems that promote resource efficiency, reduce and adapt to adverse climate effects, harness renewable energy sources, and foster sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Ummey Habiba Iqbal (Former member)

Ummey Habiba Iqbal, is working as a Research Assistant in Center for
Sustainable Development at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. She has studied and
completed her post graduation in Geography and Environment from University of Dhaka. As
a geographer, she has a deep interest in the area of Climate change, Environmental analysis,
Water resource management, Social Geography, Spatial Analysis using GIS, Image
processing and Analysis using Remote Sensing. She has more than three years of research
experience in the Department of Geography and Environment at University of Dhaka.
In this project, she will analyze the data and will show the Land use change,
Geomorphological change etc. in the Sundarban region by using GIS. Besides, she is also
supporting other different research activities in this project.

Md Faisal Imran

Md Faisal Imran

Md Faisal Imran is a highly experienced development professional with over 7 years of experience in project design, implementation, management, and documentation. He is now working as a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), ULAB. He completed his Master’s in Zoology (specialization in fisheries) and his Bachelor’s in Zoology from Jagannath University.

In his early career under USAID Tiger Activity (PDF), Mr. Faisal has demonstrated excellent project management skills, including project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation at Satkhira Sundarbans in Bangladesh. He has experience in working with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, and communities, and has successfully completed numerous projects involving data management and analysis.

Dr. Samiya A Selim

Dr. Samiya A Selim

Principal Investigator for Bangladesh

Dr. Samiya Selim, Director and Professor, Center for Sustainable Development, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. She has studied and worked in the UK for the past 12 years in the field of environment conservation, climate change and sustainable development. Her specialization is in the areas of ecosystem-based management, sustainable livelihoods, socio-ecological systems, climate change adaptation and resilience, ecosystem services, and science-policy interface.
