Debjyoti Mondal, an experienced inland fisherman from Kumirmari has been associated with the rights movements of forest-dependent people from the Indian Sundarbans. He is one of the key person from the Sundarban Jana Sramajibi Manch (SJSM) from Kumirmari and one of the Trustee Member of the Sundarban Parjatan Parisheba Samabay Samity Ltd, a cooperative working in line with SJSM. Currently he is playing one of the key roles in developing an FPO called Sundarban-fed honey and natural product producer Ltd along with Tapas Mandal and others.

He will contribute in the field-based component of the project especially in terms of arrangement and strengthening other onsite logistical and elementary support-base.
